Contact: hello rivercityfoodtours. We picked the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo that they were offering for date night, and it was a great table red that paired well with all of our selections. First, we selected the chickpea and arugula salad with pickled onions.
It was a very large portion and was more than enough for two people to share. The margherita pizza was delicious; the tomato sauce was sweet, but not overpoweringly so.

Finally, we had the honey panna cotta, which was also a hit! I will definitely be back to Nota Bene, as Date Night is a great deal, but I would also like to try their regular menu offerings! I went here on a Friday night with a close friend for the first time.

I was visiting from out of town, but Richmond is my hometown. I recommend the Tallegio pizza, delicious. I will come here again the next time in town. Nine of us stopped in for dinner last week. Our service was Berenice and she was attentive and efficient. We were a little disappointed by the choice of pasta selections on the menu and opted for their wood fired pizzas.
The pizzas came right from the oven to the table Two of the 5 we ordered were overdone and the edge crusts were pretty much carbon. We also ordered some of their bread and it was very good with olive oil All in all, we had a decent experience on what was a slow night for this restaurant. A little more attention to the details and some more traditional pasta offerings would make things even better. I used to live in Italy and I must say the flavours are very close of how I remember them. The customer service is always excellent, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is "delicious".
What I love is consistency with the food We are always coming back and we are lucky to live close by! Came for my birthday dinner with my girlfriends, and they graciously accommodated our group of 8 on a Thursday night.

We were the only patrons present for the majority of the meal, which I found a bit surprising. There is no doubt that Nota Bene truly cares about the quality of their ingredients and preparing their Italian fare in the traditional manner. I'm an adventurous eater, but the menu was a bit out there for me, and I had to look up several things on my phone. Having been to Italy multiple times, I really appreciated the authenticity of the menu, but a few in our group were a bit overwhelmed.
All but myself and one other ordered pizza. I was excited to see the bucatini all'amatriciana on the menu a because amatriciana is my favorite pasta sauce and b because a percentage of proceeds from this dish were going to the earthquake victims in Amatrice through eatforitaly. There were no complaints about the service, but it did take quite a while for all of the food to come out. The price for my pasta seemed a little high for just noodles and sauce, but the pizza prices seemed very appropriate.
I wanted to love this place, but for now, I only liked it. Since it's right down the street, I'm certainly open to giving it another shot. I've also been drooling over the photos of brunch in the cast iron skillets, so I plan to return to give those a shot too! Own or manage this property?
