Unprofessional management reigns with impunity and regional management jumps in to back them up when anyone raises an issue. Repeated and assured commitments and agreements are later denied dismissed with a smirk. This seems to seep from corporate down thru to local stores. Gossip and behind your back insults are constant and cover other staff and store managers and to include regional managers and corporate personnel.

It's toxic and from what one can glean this isn't limited to a few stores. Great concept, beautiful stores, unmatched product selection, wide national reach and yet somehow the bad seeds are regularly placed in positions of power and there's nothing one can do except quit and move on.

Paid above minimum wage, and offer full benefits when granted full time position. There're better places to work. This is not the place you want to work. They under pay and the work life balance pretty much doesn't exist. Good place to work. Not much room for advancement. The company is good to their employees and their customers. No benefits unless your full time which is mostly for management only. The enjoyable part of the job is working with customers the hard part is working with the customers who are mad about the coupons that have so many stipulations.

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. My favorite part about working at Total are my co-workers. We always have fun while still getting our work done. There is definitely room for growth Currently there are 3 managers, supervisors, and only 2 wine associates— too many chiefs, not enough Indians as the saying goes.

Learned some things but overall would not recommend. Worked here for about 6 month before I had to move and loved it. I worked at the one in Delaware it was the biggest one in the area. I loved working there. The mangers were amazing if you had a question about anything they were always able to give you an answer. Your co-workers were awesome as well. The pay was pretty good and for part time hours I made good money and had good hours.

The store was always very well kept and taken care of. Great place to shop, terrible to work. On the surface Total Wine and More seems like an excellent opportunity. Most stores are giant and filled to the brim with all manner of interesting and foreign wines, beers and spirits where available. They're clean, the employees are often very nice and the opportunity to learn about wine, beer and spirits is very intriguing.

However, when one works there it quickly falls apart. The typical problems in a retail environment abound. Pay is poor.

Advancement isn't much better. Management is typically great but often shoehorned by company policy towards sales and Wine Direct items. Benefits of being able to take home up to 10 cases of wine a year and the same with 6 packs of beer seem excellent on the front, but it is really more of a bread and circus reward to compensate for poor pay, poor life balance and lack of advancement opportunities.

Its a great place to shop, a terrible place to work. Each Location is different. The company overall is not bad to work for. The Tampa store is horrible. They do not pay well. Management is non existent.
