We stayed here for two nights during a night road trip. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room, although small, was clean and functional. The bathroom was of a good size and the aircon worked well. You can here the very long goods trains slowly passing throughout the day and night but it didn't stop us sleeping. The motel offers a decent self-service buffet breakfast at no extra cost, which is a nice touch and we were also able to do our laundry for free, which was outstanding. Other than a bit of touch up painting required in the bathroom where a towel holder had been removed , the room was fine.
It took around mins to walk into the main part of the town where the restaurants and bars were but that was fine for us and we would happily stay here again. Date of stay: September Location. We travel the world and every now and again happen upon an establishment that wraps up various Hollywood movies in one go. The receptionist is helpful and accommodating. Bay of Islands Accommodation | Motel Paihia | Swiss Chalet
Do not stay here if you are a light sleeper as it is on the side of a very busy road, along which the train line runs and trains go past all night. The mattress was very soft and the pillows are very thin, although the towels in the bathroom were white and fluffy.
The breakfast appeared to be standard fare for the type of establishment but went to take some fruit bread to toast which was so stale in went in the bin and we left. A very disappointing stay. Hi there, Thank you for your feedback.

Our proximity to the train tracks can be a challenge for us. Unfortunately the trains and trucks is beyond our control, but truly hope it did not disturb your rest too much.
